Currants grow best in medium moisture and an organically rich, well-drained soil, in full sun to partial shade. Avoid overhead watering. Remove stems older than three years to encourage fruit production.
Notes
Currants are easier to grow than most berries as they are thornless, prolific, and do not require acidic soil. The botanical name for White Pearl Currant has been updated from Currant x 'White Pearl' to Ribes rubrum 'White Pearl'.
