Growing & Maintenance Tips
Central leaders can be supported to a predetermined height and then allowed to cascade. This cultivar needs room to spread. A smaller size can be easily managed, but maintenance must be started at a young age. Damage or stem breakage may occur in the winter from ice and snow accumulation. Protection (burlap wrap) from drying winter winds is recommended for young plants in an exposed location.
Notes
Also referred to as Atlas Cedar, Blue Atlas Cedar. The "Serpentine" or twisted reference in the size is the technique of bending metal stakes to train one or more central stems of a plant in a twisted snake-like pattern.
