Growing & Maintenance Tips

Grows in marshes, along pond shorelines or in wet meadows, in full sun to light shade. This sedge spreads by rhizomes and is a good choice for erosion control. Dead stems can be cleaned out in early spring.

Notes

Native to Ontario and most of North America. It's old botanical name was Scirpus validus and has been changed to Schoenoplectus tabernaemontani.
