This disease-resistant elm combines the graceful vase form of classic elms with modern resistance to Dutch elm disease: a practical choice for street, boulevard, and large residential plantings.

Compact habit develops into the classic vase shape associated with American elm, providing excellent canopy spread and shade.
Dark green summer foliage turns yellow in autumn.
Selected for resistance to Dutch elm disease and elm yellows; considerably more reliable than non-resistant elms in Ontario urban plantings.
Best in full sun to partial shade to full shade with moist, well-drained soil.

This species of aster needs to be planted in an open and reasonably sunny position to achieve peak flowering. Needs good air circulation to limit mildew issues and prevent the bottom leaves from dropping. Pinch back 1/3 of the foliage twice before early summer, to maintain shape and foliage vigour.
