Growing & Maintenance Tips
Grows best in an average to consistently moist, well-drained soil, in full to partial shade. Do not prune to the ground in fall as the leaves nourish the plant during the winter months and provide added winter protection. Slow to establish and does not like to be transplanted once it reaches its maturity.
Notes
Native to Ontarioand most of Eastern North America. Leaves are toxic. To protect their pollen, the flowers close at night, and even on dark days.
