Purple Love Grass, Tumble Grass

Grows best in an average to dry, sandy soil, in full sun to light shade. Leaving foliage adds winter interest if desired, but prune in late winter to make way for new growth. Spreads slowly by rhizome and self-seeds by the tumbleweed method.

They do not push new growth until temperatures warm in early to midsummer. They flower later in the summer or fall with most blooms remaining into the winter.
