Pink Bugleweed

Pink Bugleweed

Ajuga reptans 'Rosea'

This selection is the softer, more subtle alternative to the bold blue-flowered standard ajuga, its pink flower spikes combine beautifully with the glossy dark green evergreen foliage, creating a more refined groundcover effect while retaining all the spreading vigour and shade tolerance of the species.

  • Pink flower spikes in May–June are a softer complement to the dark glossy green foliage than standard blue-flowered ajuga
  • Glossy dark green foliage is evergreen, providing colour and coverage through all seasons
  • Spreading habit quickly covers shaded ground with a dense, weed-suppressing mat

Growing & Maintenance Tips
Slow to medium spreading ground cover that grows best in a fairly moist soil. Dense foliage is good for choking out weeds. Can be invasive. Will grow in partial to full shade and with adequate moisture will tolerate some sun. To rejuvenate plant growth, mow (on a high setting) after blooming. Divide every two to three years to prevent centre dieback.
