Growing & Maintenance Tips

Asparagus thrives in a well-drained, deep soil with plenty of sunlight. The addition of potassium and phosphorous before planting increases plant health. Serious harvest should not begin until the third year. Plants should be top-dressed with rotted compost after every harvest season.

Notes

Bred by a team from the University of Guelph at Simcoe, this cultivar shows tolerance to heavier soils and cooler temperatures than other cultivars. Edible spears are safe for human consumption; berries produced on mature plants are toxic to pets and should not be eaten.
