Growing & Maintenance Tips
Soil should be consistently moist asAruncuswill not tolerate long periods of drought. Thrives in partial shade, or full sun if adequate moisture is provided. Finished flowers can be left on (if desired) as the dried plumes look attractive, lasting well into the summer. However, the seeds are slightly toxic. Plants are slow to establish.  Some susceptibility to leaf spot, but generally an insect- and disease-free plant.
Notes
Aruncus dioicusisnative to Ontarioand other parts of North America. (It's complicated) Dioicus means having separate male and female plants; the flowers of male plants are generally more showy than those of female plants.
