Bunny Blue™ Sedge

Bunny Blue™ Sedge

Carex laxiculmus Bunny Blue™ ('Hobb')

This disease-resistant elm combines the graceful vase form of classic elms with modern resistance to Dutch elm disease: a practical choice for street, boulevard, and large residential plantings.

  • Mounding habit develops into the classic vase shape associated with American elm, providing excellent canopy spread and shade.
  • Foliage turns yellow in autumn.
  • Selected for resistance to Dutch elm disease and elm yellows; considerably more reliable than non-resistant elms in Ontario urban plantings.
  • Best in partial shade to full shade with moist, average soil.

Growing & Maintenance Tips
Best grown in an average to moist soil, in partial to full shade. Should not be allowed to dry out for long periods of time. Evergreen foliage should be left for winter and can be cut back in early spring to allow new growth to appear.
