Allegheny Spurge, Mountain Spurge

Allegheny Spurge is the North American native alternative to Japanese Pachysandra, its matte grey-bronze mottled leaves are more ornamental than its Asian relative, it produces fragrant flowers in early spring before the foliage emerges, and it supports native pollinators.

• Fragrant greenish-white flowers on pinkish-red stems appear before the new foliage in April–May
• Matte green leaves with distinctive grey and bronze mottling are more ornamental than common Japanese Pachysandra
• Deciduous in colder zones, semi-evergreen in milder ones, slowly spreads to form a dense groundcover
• Supports native pollinators in early spring when few other plants are in flower
